Winter Joy Box 2020: Meet the Makers

Winter Joy Box 2020: Meet the Makers

Our Winter 2020 Joy Box launches on October 28th, and this box includes some of our favorite products from our favorite makers! But hey, don’t they all?! Yes, they do ;) So we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to these makers and what makes them so special.

Finding Home Farms

Finding Home Farms initially began in 2010 as a blog run by Laura Putnam. In 2015, Laura and her husband Dana decided it was time for a change of pace. Tired of the corporate hustle, they turned their hobby of sugaring (a.k.a. maple syrup making) into a full time gig.

Growing up in New Hampshire, Dana is a fourth generation sugar maker. Prior to starting Finding Home Farms, he and Laura would sugar just for fun, making enough syrup to share with neighbors and friends. Through this hobby, they found their sugaring moments were their happiest moments. So when they were ready for a change of pace, they knew it had to include sugaring.

What started out in the basement of their New York home grew into a full time operation offering handcrafted organic maple syrup, pantry offerings, soy candles, and home decor. They’ve moved out of their basement and now have a warehouse, a full area for making and canning maple syrup, a retail store, offices, and even an event space! We love selling their products in our shop and we are confident that you’re going to love their Shine Bright candle, featured in this season’s Joy Box! Check them out on Instagram, Facebook, or their website!

Union Farm Goods

Brian and Tammie Imel are the brains behind the magic happening at Union Farm Goods. Operating out of a small town in Indiana (just like your friends at Joyfully Said!), each piece in their shop is designed and made by them.

Union Farm Goods got its start in early 2016 when Brian and Tammie decided to design and make a few trays for family and friends. They loved what they were creating, but at that point saw it as simply a hobby. Within a few short months, it grew into a budding and successful business.

To this day, they use only reclaimed wood and locally sourced metal for their pieces, meaning no two pieces are ever the same. They take pride in their high level of quality and craftsmanship that is evident in each piece they create. We are fortunate enough to carry some of their pieces in our shop and we are so excited to share their work with you in this season’s Joy Box! You can guarantee that the tray that arrives in your box was made by hand and with care. Check out more of Brian and Tammie’s work on Instagram, Facebook, or their website

Thanks for taking the time to get to know these makers that are near and dear to our hearts. We are so excited for you to feature their products in your home. We know that you will love them just as much as we do!
